Shikhar Dhawan divorced: Shikhar Dhawan and Aesha Mukerji have separated after eight years of marriage, according to an ANI report. The duo tied the knot in 2012. While Dhawan has yet to confirm or speak up, Aesha, in a lengthy Instagram post, wrote:
“I THOUGHT DIVORCE WAS A DIRTY WORD UNTIL I DID TWICE DIVORCE.
“It’s funny how words can have such powerful meanings and associations. I had this experience as a divorcee. The first time I got divorced, I was so scared. I felt like I had failed and I was doing something so wrong at the time.
“I felt like I had let everyone down and even felt selfish. I felt like I was letting my parents down, I felt I was letting my kids down, and even to a certain extent, I felt like I was letting go of God. Divorce was a dirty word.
“So now imagine, I have to relive it a second time. Woooahhhhhh. It’s terrifying. Having divorced once before, I felt like I had more on the line the second time around. I had more to prove. So when my second marriage fell apart, it was really scary. All the feelings I had when I first experienced it has arrived. Fear, failure, and disappointment x 100. What does this mean to me? How does that define me and my relationship to marriage? ”…
Aesha, a Melbourne based boxer, has two daughters from her previous marriage. Aesha and Dhawan have a son named Zoravar.
Dhawan is currently set to play the Indian Premier League 2021 in UAE for Delhi Capitals. He recently led India in a limited-overs series in Sri Lanka.
