Resident Doctors’ Strike: Withdrawal From OPD Services To Continue For Demands Over NEET PG Counselling

NEET PG Counselling: The Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA), which observed a nationwide strike on Saturday, announced that the withdrawal of OPD services will continue.

Resident physicians demand prompt advice from NEET PG 2021 as well as the admission process.

According to FORDA, the protest saw a massive turnout from medical residents across the country. He claimed that more than 10,000 doctors took part in the pan-Indian strike, ANI news agency reported.

“A meeting took place between the Honorable Union Minister of Health and the President of FORDA at MoHFW, Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi. The in-depth discussion from the meeting was presented to representatives of medical resident associations from various states during the virtual meeting held today at 5:00 p.m. forward ”, we read in the official press release of the Federation.

It was announced that according to the common consensus during the meeting with the representatives of the RDA State, the withdrawal of OPD services will be continued.

“A national review meeting will take place on Monday (11/29/2021). The nation’s medical fraternity is united in this fight for justice, ”the statement added.

Admission to various NEET PG 2021 courses has been delayed indefinitely following the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to NEET PG-2021’s prompt advice and admission process, the protest was also observed to speed up court proceedings urgently.

While speaking to ANI earlier about the plight of young students, FORDA President Dr. Manish said, “Our protest is sincere. Our first-year PG students are already seeing seven months behind schedule and the next Supreme Court hearing date is January 6. We know that no verdict will come on January 6. Students are faced with a loss of the year. They can change the reservation policy from the next session.

“In addition, the medical residents who work here are overworked. They work 80 hours and in such a situation how can we expect quality care? he added.

Earlier, the Union government told the Supreme Court that advice for NEET PG medicine courses “would be postponed for four weeks” because for admission bookings it was an annual income criterion of 8 lakh to determine the category of the economically weaker section (EWS).

An information letter was delivered to the Union Minister of Health Mansukh Mandaviya regarding the withdrawal of OPD services in health facilities from November 27.

In the letter, FORDA urged the Union government and the Supreme Court to take note of the medical residents’ grievance and “take the necessary steps to speed up the NEET-PG 2021 counseling and admission process and speed up legal proceedings on an urgent basis ”.

“If there is no positive response, we will be forced to intensify our protest. The burden of such an unfortunate situation affecting the health services will fall on the authorities concerned, ”he said.
