Reality of AKTU centers on social distancing & masks rule

Reality of AKTU centers: Some students took to the social media platform Twitter to share photos or maintain social distance. They also claimed that thermal screening was conducted at the examinations centers.

The odd semester 2021-22 exams of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) began on 28 December 2021 in the offline mode across 122 exam centers in the state. According to the AKTU students, Covid-19 protocal were not followed during the exams. Students had earlier demanded online exams due to the fear of increasing new covid varient (omicron) cases in country.

A total of 1,10,000 students appeared for the AKTU odd semester exams, as per reports. Some AKTU students took to social media platform Twitter to share photos of students not wearing masks or maintaining social distances. They also claimed that a heat screening had been carried out on campus and that there were also no sensitizers.

The institute previously said there was no dilemma in conducting the offline exams and that covid-19 protocols would be followed. AKTU Lucknow, media officer Asheesh Mishra, said exam center coordinators were instructed to pay special attention to ensure that students did not experience any inconvenience during the exam. AKTU offline exams will continue until January 16.

Seven Students caught cheating on day one

Exam Controller Prof Anurag Tripathi said that seven students were caught using unfair means during the exam. The first team of exams took place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. while the second team of exams took place from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
