Pariksha Pe Charcha 2022: PM Modi Talks About Exam Fever, Online Education, NEP | Top Q&A

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with over 2000 students at the Talkatora Stadium today for the fifth edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha 2022. PM Modi discussed various methods for students to focus on their studies, make learning interesting, increase concentration and relieve stress during exams.

Here are the questions posed by students and teachers during today’s Pariksha Pe Charcha session, as well as the Prime Minister’s answers.

Q:Students asked PM Modi about the exam fever and how to deal with it, how to manage stress during exams.

ANS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that because this is not the first time the students will take the exams, they should not be afraid, but rather rejoice that they have progressed so far. He added that when exams are approaching, students should not be concerned about the topics, but rather revise and prepare those in which they excel so that they are confident in what they have learned. PM Modi stated that you should keep your schedule simple and use time management to cover the important topics.

Prime Minister Modi stated, “I want students to avoid a panicked environment during exams. There’s no need to imitate your friends; just keep doing what you’re doing with complete confidence, and I believe you’ll all be able to take your exam in a festive mood.”

Q. Students asked PM Modi how to focus on online classes when there are so many distractions available.

ANS: PM Modi put a humorous spin on the question, asking students if those who read online have difficulty reading or if they just stare at the screen and their minds are elsewhere. Students should examine themselves while studying online, regardless of whether they actually study or spend their time watching videos on social media.

He stated that if this is the case, the mode of study is not the issue, but rather the mind. PM Modi stated that digital education is a necessity of the hour and that it should not be avoided but rather used as a source of additional information. Online education is based on the principle of acquiring knowledge, whereas offline education is concerned with retaining that knowledge and applying it practically.

He stated, “Skill sets are extremely valuable all over the world. Technology is not a curse; it should be used wisely. Students are now creating 3D printers and running Vedic mathematics apps. They make good use of technology.”

He stated that once the students have completed their offline classes, they can use the online modes to catch up on anything they missed or didn’t understand properly. He stated that students should focus on “inner lines” and learn about themselves after completing online and offline education. It will assist them in focusing on their studies and bringing clarity to various aspects of their lives.

Q. A teacher asked PM Modi how will the National Education Police help in nation-building?

ANS: PM Modi stated that the NEP will provide students with a variety of options for pursuing their education. The Prime Minister stated that there are many fields in which students want to contribute and make a career, one of which is sports. Previously, sports were not even taught in every school, but NEP will assist students in enrolling in sports-related courses and will provide guidance to help them move in the right direction. He stated that previously, if a student chose the medical stream, he or she would have to continue on the same path, but NEP will allow them to choose courses based on their interests. The Prime Minister also stated that the NEP will not only provide multiple courses, but will also help students improve their skills, which will contribute to nation-building.

Q. Students asked PM Modi how to fulfill the expectation of parents?

ANS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that this is a question for parents and teachers, not students. He stated that parents are always divided about what is right and wrong for their children and that they want their children to succeed, but students should not feel pressured to perform well by teachers and parents. Parents should not instil their hopes and dreams in their children. They should be free to make their own decisions about their future.

PM Modi advised students that, while there are lessons for parents, students should not avoid or ignore their parents’ and teachers’ instructions, but rather try to understand what they want for them, and that if they feel pressured, they should notify their parents. Students should also concentrate on their abilities and share their areas of interest with their parents.

PM Modi concluded his response by saying, “Parents are not always aware of their children’s strengths and interests. We must recognise that every child is endowed with something extraordinary that parents and teachers frequently fail to recognise.”

Q. Students asked PM Modi how they can stay motivated when they don’t perform well in exams and how they can balance school and extracurricular activities.

ANS: PM Modi stated that when people are down or demotivated, they seek sympathy from others, which eventually becomes a habit. So, in order to motivate yourself, you must break the chain and try doing things that make you feel good, as well as paying closer attention to what is going on around you. As an example, the Prime Minister stated that when listening to music, one should not only focus on the lyrics but also on the tunes and musical instruments. PM advised students to draw parallels with nature and understand that every living thing experiences demotivation and changes their behaviour; flowers and trees also change their behaviour when there is no positive energy, so you are not alone.

But you’ll realise that they can’t move or change the energy around them, whereas you can. So, to feel positive, try doing simple activities that you enjoy. He stated, “God has taken away many of a disabled person’s abilities, but the disabled have turned those weaknesses into strengths. Students should reflect on their weaknesses and determine what is preventing them from progressing.”

Prime Minister Modi also stated, “We frequently associate ‘Dhyaan’ and concentration with Rishi-Muni. That is something that we all require in our daily lives. It teaches us to be in the moment and focus on the task at hand.”
