New cases of COVID19 in India topped 37,000 in the past 24 hours; 648 registered deaths

India reports 37,593 new COVID19 cases, 34,169 recoveries, and 648 deaths in the last 24 hrs, as per Health Ministry.

New Delhi: A day after reporting 25,467 new cases of coronavirus, the number of new cases in India topped 37,000 on Thursday. According to the latest health bulletin released by the Union Health Ministry, India has reported 37,593 new cases of the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

The Ministry of Health informed that the number of active cases in India stands at 3,222,327. Active cases represent less than 1% of total cases, currently at 0.99%.

Number of deaths: 4 35,758
Total vaccinated: 59,55,04,593 (61,90,930 in the last 24 hours)

The country recorded 34,169 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recoveries to 3,17 54,281. With this, the recovery rate is currently at 97.67%

The Center further stated that the weekly positivity rate (1.92%) was below 3% for the past 61 days, while the daily positivity rate (2.10%) was below 3% for the 30 last days.

Out of 37,593 new COVID-19 cases and 648 deaths reported in India in the past 24 hours, Kerala yesterday recorded 24,296 COVID-positive cases and 173 deaths.

Meanwhile, the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) reported that a total of 51 11 84 547 samples have been tested for Covid-19 through August 24. Of which 17 92 755 samples were tested yesterday.
