New Delhi: The Supreme Court of India on Monday dismissed a motion for brief filed requesting directions for the postponement of the NEET UG 2021 exam to a date after the declaration of the CBSE, private, patrachar compartment exams. The review will take place on schedule on September 12, the Supreme Court said.
The court rejected the plea of a group of students who argued that the entrance exam would conflict with other exams saying that “More than 16 lakh students are passing NEET. It cannot be deferred on a plea of a few students.
“We will not accept this petition. We don’t want uncertainty. Let the review continue, ”added Judge AM Khanwilkar, Judge Hrishikesh Roy and Judge CT Ravikumar.On September 3, the National Testing Agency told the judiciary that students would be allowed to sit for the exam, regardless of whether CBSE results would not be reported by then.”Failure to report results will not prevent students from taking the exam, and results will only be required during counseling,” the NTA said.The plea filed by attorney Sumanth Nookala sought to quash the public notice scheduling NEET UG 2021 for September 12 as “manifestly arbitrary and in violation of Article 14 of the Constitution of India.”During the hearing of the NTA lawyer on September 3, the judiciary told the applicant’s lawyer orally: “Your grievance is that further examinations will begin and your result is not declared. The relief requested is unnecessary as the authorities say you will be allowed to appear.
