NEET-UG Counseling Schedule Released, Registration to Begin January 19 | Check details

NEET-UG Counseling: Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced on Thursday that counseling for NEET-UG is expected to start from January 19. The schedule for this has been published by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

According to the schedule, the NEET UG Counseling 2021 will be held in four rounds – All India Quota (AIQ) round 1, AIQ round 2, AIQ mop-up round and AIQ stray vacancy round. For the first round, the final result will be announced on January 29.

NEET UG Consultation Hours
The siege matrix verification will be done from January 17 to 18. Registration and payment will begin on January 19. Registration will continue until January 24, 12:00 p.m. while the payment option will remain available for an additional three hours, until 3:00 p.m. noon on January 24.

Pick filling will begin on January 20 and end on January 24 at 11:55 p.m. The pick lock will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 11:55 p.m. on January 24.

Verification of internal applications by universities/institutes will take place from January 25 to 26. The processing of the allocation of places will take place from January 27 to 28. The final result will be announced on January 29.

Earlier, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had taken to Twitter to inform about the commencement of NEET-UG Counselling 2021.

“Dear students, counselling for NEET-UG is being started by MCC from January 19. You are the future of the country and hopefully, all of you will give a new direction to your career with the mantra of seva dharma. I extend my best wishes to all,” he wrote.

Instructions For Online Stray Vacancy Round

Fresh registrations will only be done in AIQ round 1, AIQ round 2, AIQ mop-up round only. Here are some important points pertaining to Online Stray Vacancy Round:

  • No New Registration/ Payment option for Online Stray Vacancy Round.
  • No Fresh Choice Filling will be conducted for Online Stray Vacancy Round
  • The Choices exercised by candidates in Mop Up Round will be considered for allotment of seats for Stray Vacancy Round.
  • Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can only participate in Online Stray Vacancy.

Notably, the NEET UG admissions will be done for 15 per cent of All India Quota (AIQ) seats this year, after factoring in the new Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Other Backward Class (OBC) reservation criteria.
