NEET PG 2022 Tomorrow: Know aspirants Demand On Exam Postponement

NEET PG 2022: On Saturday, May 21, the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) will be held. Despite widespread calls from NEET PG candidates to postpone the exam, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) will hold the medical admission test tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. NEET PG aspirants complained about not having enough time to prepare for the exam. According to aspirants, all-India counselling ended on May 3, but several state counselling processes are still ongoing. Candidates taking part in the counselling process are having difficulty preparing for the exam.

NEET PG 2022: Why Are Students Demanding To Postpone Exam?

In a letter to Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) stated that the NEET PG 2021 exam and counselling were both postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The counselling process was further slowed by a Supreme Court ruling on March 31 that ordered the cancellation of the mop-up round and the conduct of a special round of counselling.

In the letter, the IMA requested that the exam be postponed so that aspirants could prepare for the medical entrance exam. “Because the NEET PG 2022 examination date is May 21st, 2022, we request your timely intervention and urgent consideration of postponing the NEET PG for a reasonable period of time, so that the current NEET-PG2021 aspirants have adequate time to prepare and appear for the upcoming NEET-PG 2022 examination and the eligibility of all interns is also ensured,” the letter read.

In a recent memorandum, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) stated that many students were unable to enrol in college due to the delay in NEET counselling. Students are now in a quandary because there is very little time between 2021 counselling and the 2022 exam date.

The student union claims that “As a result, many students did not complete the NEET-PG 2022 registration form. Thousands of students’ futures are jeopardised due to a conflict between the NEET PG 2021 counselling process and the date of the NEET PG examination, as well as a lack of preparation time.” The student union demanded that the exam be postponed for at least two months.

Candidates taking the NEET PG exam should adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines, arrive at the exam centre with face masks and hand sanitizers, and adhere to mandatory social distancing guidelines. Candidates must arrive at the exam centre half an hour before the exam, which begins at 9 a.m., and must bring their admit card and any other important documents. The NEET PG examination will end at 12 p.m.
