The highest annual salary package offered to a post graduate diploma in management (PGDM) student from the current batch of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s S P Jain Institute of Management and Research stood at ₹53.16 lakh per annum this year.

The highest annual salary package offered to a Postgraduate Graduate Student in Management (PGDM) in the current batch of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s SP Jain Institute of Management and Research was ₹53.16 lakh per annum this year, an increase of 14% over last year. The average salary offered in the 2021-22 batch also saw an increase of 23% compared to 2020-21.

The highest package received by a student from the previous batch was ₹44 lakh, while the highest salary package offered to a student in 2020 and 2019 was ₹51 lakh and ₹46.5 lakh, respectively.

“As recruitment by consulting firms increased, offers were rolled out to 91 students, the highest ever reported by SPJIMR for a batch. The FMCG sector was also a major recruiter and made offers to more than 22% of the lot and this was closely followed by offers in the Private Equity, BFSI, Tech and E-commerce sectors,” said a statement released by the institute on Thursday.

The average annual salary this year stands at ₹32.05 lakhs per year while the median annual salary stands at ₹30.10 lakhs per year, with more than 30% of lot securing bids exceeding ₹35 lakhs per annum and more than 87% in excess of ₹25 lakhs per annum, the institute’s investment report pointed out.

The institute further highlighted around 52% of pre-placement offers (PPOs) bundled through fall internships and company competitions. A total of 238 students participated in the internship season this year and the total number of companies participating in the session this year was 70, including 33 first-time recruiters.

“We faced particular challenges during this placement session, particularly when the institute reopened and then closed with the third wave of the pandemic. Our teams quickly readjusted, students came together and as team, we have ensured that the performance of the season is one of the best we have seen in recent times,” said Prof. Abbasali Gabula, Associate Director of External Relations, SPJIMR.
