Lucknow University closed till April 10, Demand of closure till April 20

Lucknow University and its associated 174 colleges have been closed till 10 April due to surge in corona infection. So far two university teachers have died from Corona. After the death of Padmashri awardee Prof. Brijesh Kumar Shukla on Tuesday, the Lucknow University Teachers Association (LUTA) and the Employees Council raised the demand for complete closure of the campus.

After this, the University Registrar Dr. Vinod Kumar Singh had sent a letter to the District Magistrate requesting to completely close the campus by April 10 to break the Corona chain. Late in the evening, the District Magistrate Abhishek Prakash agreed to it. The Registrar, Dr. Vinod Kumar Singh said that guidelines have been issued in this regard to colleges associated with the university. He informed that orders have already been sent to conduct online classes everywhere.

More than 15 employees of the university have been infected: More than 15 teachers are corona infected in the university campus. On Tuesday, four more employees have also joined them.

Demand to close the university by April 20:

The University Teachers Association had demanded the closure of the university by April 20, but the university sent the proposal to the DM for only four days i.e. by April 10.

LUTA president, Dr. Vineet Verma, says that the Corona chain will not be broken by a four-day holiday. Therefore, it should be extended by 20 April.

Postponed examinations:

The campus and all the colleges have been closed till April 10 in view of the worsening situation of the corona in the campus. In such a situation, the proposed examinations of graduate first year and MBA have now been postponed. Controller of Examinations Prof. AM Saxena says that on the basis of the situation of Corona, it cannot be said now when the examinations should be conducted.
