Jugal Hansraj for 25 years of Papa Kahte Hain, how Ghar Se Nikalte Hi was made: ‘I wanted to shoot a song before the movie’

Pope Kahte Hain focused on the character of Sweety (Mayoori) who went out looking for his father (Anupam Kher), who left him when he was young. During the trip, he meets and falls in love with Rohit (Jugal). The Mahesh Bhatt director also starred in Tiku Talsania, Dinesh Hingoo, Soni Razdan, Navni Parihar, and Suhas Joshi.

Jugal has revealed that after hearing “Ghar Se Nikalte Hi”, all he wanted was to record a song, even before the movie. “I have vivid memories. I remember going to record songs before the shooting started. Rajesh Roshan, Javed Akhtar, and Udit Narayan were all presents. When Udit Ji started singing, I was so excited that I kept annoying Mahesh Bhatt for shooting the song first. Whoever he loved, he called them ‘duffer’. So you told me, ‘No duffer. First, we have to stop the Bombay shooting. And then we go to Seychelles’. So I have to wait better, ”said the actor.

Recalling the day of the shooting, Jugal added, “We were all in a hotel. I was so happy, I didn’t sleep last night. On the day of the shooting, I woke up in the morning, ready. I remember going to the houses of Mahesh Bhatt and Raju Khan, a dancer, knocking on their door asking them to hurry. I was pulling everyone out to get on the bus (laughs).
“We went to the beach and half a day went into the introductory music. I kept waiting for the words to begin. It started after lunch, and everyone said they were here, now I have to leave them alone! ”He shared openly.

What I really enjoyed while working with him, everything else aside, he is very good with the characters and he will do his best to make them comfortable. He believes they are the actors in the fireplace, in front of the lights, as others are hiding behind the lens. Therefore, he will make sure that we are loved and cared for. He does not give many instructions. He will put you in a local position and leave you in front of the camera. ”

So, even the way Mahesh Bhatt shot “Ghar Se Nikalte Hi” was different. Jugal briefly outlined the recipients of the song. “If you look at it, you will see that there are 4-6 lines in each bullet. He was taken with a long shotgun without a cut. I had to think about how I would feel all of that. So, it made me sing on camera to the whole song. ”

Both film directors – Jugal Hansraj and Mayoori Kango continued to choose different paths in their careers.
