Jammu Kashmir News: Terrorists shoot at policeman

Jammu Kashmir News: A policeman was shot dead by terrorists in the Batmaloo neighborhood of Srinagar on Sunday evening. The name of the 29-year-old policeman who was martyred is Tauseef Ahmed. He was shot dead in the SD colony of Batmaloo. After being shot, Tauseef Ahmed was rushed to SMHS hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. Dr Kanwaljit Singh, medical director of SMHS hospital, confirmed the officer’s death.

“At around eight in the evening, terrorists opened fire on Jammu and Kashmir Police Constable Tausif Ahmed near his residence at SD Colony, Batamaloo,” officials said.

Authorities said the area had been cordoned off and searches were underway to catch the attackers. Meanwhile, the National Conference (NC) condemned the attack. The party tweeted: “Clearly condemn the cowardly attack by a 29-year-old policeman in Batmaloo, Srinagar in which he lost his life. Words will not be enough to condemn. May Allah give them a place in heaven. Our condolences go out to his family and friends at this hour of mourning.

Terrorist found in critical condition

Jammu Kashmir- A terrorist from Lashkar-e-Taiba was seriously injured in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. Police sources said the terrorist was identified as Sahil Bashir from the village of Harman. Local people saw him in critical condition in his village. Police sources said: “Some residents took him to hospital, but it is not yet known how he was shot. He joined the terrorist ranks on October 12 and was on our list.
