Jammu and Kashmir encounter: Two terrorists from the banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba were killed on Saturday during an encounter with security forces in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. Acting on a report of the presence of terrorists in the Kilbal area of the district, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation, a police spokesman said.
“During the search operation, as the joint search team moved towards the suspected location, the hiding terrorists opened fire on them,” the spokesperson said. After that, the security forces also retaliated, after which the encounter started and two terrorists were killed. East.
He said the two terrorists were identified as Sameer Ahmed Shah and Raees Ahmed Mir and resided in Shopian and Pulwama respectively. Earlier, security forces on Thursday arrested a terrorist Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) from Budgam district in Jammu and Kashmir and seized weapons and ammunition from his possession. A police official said security forces had received information about the presence of the terrorist following which a search operation was launched in the Chadoora area of Budgam in the morning.
