IPL 2022: This former player likely to become coach of the Lucknow franchise, 3 other names in the race

IPL 2022: Former Zimbabwe cricketer Andy Flower could become head coach of the new IPL Lucknow franchise. He resigned his post as assistant coach of Kings XI Punjab two weeks ago.

The flower would be at the forefront of the race to coach the Lucknow team. South African Gary Kirsten, New Zealander Daniel Vettori, and former Indian team coach Ashish Nehra are other favorites for the post.

“We are in contact with former players of the head coach, but we cannot talk about it until things are confirmed,” said a team official from Lucknow.

Andy Flower took over as assistant coach of Kings XI Punjab ahead of IPL 2020. For the past 2 years, he has worked closely with Punjab head coach Anil Kumble. The great Zimbabwe player has already played a pivotal role as head coach, helping England win the title at the T20 World Cup in 2010.
