IPL 2022: Mumbai Indians got a big setback after 5th consecutive defeat

Mumbai Indians lost by 12 runs to Punjab Kings. This is Mumbai’s fifth loss. Captain Rohit Sharma suffered a setback after that defeat. He was fined Rs 24 lakh. Rohit was fined for excessive slowness. Along with this, a warning was also given to them. Rohit had scored 28 points in that match against 17 balls. His innings included 3 fours and 2 sixes.

After losing the coin toss, batting first, Punjab scored 198 runs in exchange for the innings of Shikhar Dhawan and Mayank. Dhawan faced 50 balls and scored 70 with the help of 5 fours and 3 sixes. While Mayank scored 52 points on 32 balls. His innings included 6 fours and 2 sixes. While in response, the Mumbai team could only score 186 points.

Captain Rohit was fined after the Mumbai defeat. They will have to pay Rs 24 lakh as a fine for slow passing rate. Along with that, they were warned. If this also happens in the next game, he can be banned for one game.

Significantly, Mumbai faced a loss by 4 wickets in the first game against Delhi Capitals. While in the second game, he was beaten by Rajasthan Royals by 23 points. After that, KKR beat him by 5 wickets. Bangalore defeated Mumbai by 7 wickets in the fourth game.

Before the game against the Punjab Kings on Wednesday, Rohit had 499 fours in 217 IPL matches. Now, 502 fours have been registered to his name in 218 matches. Shikhar Dhawan is number one on this list. Shikhar Dhawan hit 668 fours in IPL. Virat Kohli is number two. Virat has 554 fours to his name. Australian batsman David Warner is number three with 532 fours and Suresh Raina is number four with 506 fours.
