Instagram Update: Insta Has Started Testing With Some Users To Turn All Your Video Posts Into Reels

Instagram Update: Instagram has acknowledged that it is testing a modification that converts video posts into Reels. The platform aspires to convert every aspect of its user experience, including user-posted videos, into Reels. The video app will reportedly be simplified without any unnecessary design clutter, according to the Meta-owned platform, which has begun testing the new interface with a small group of users for the time being.

According to a spokeswoman for Meta, “We are exploring this functionality as part of our efforts to simplify and improve the video experience on Instagram.”

With this new update, Instagram will alter how a video upload is viewed by both public and private users on the network.

According to early glimpses of the UI, any video shared from a public account will be turned into a Reel, and anyone using the site can find out what is in the video and even utilise the audio to make their own Reel. Even then, Instagram has a separate feature that you can turn off for public accounts to prevent anyone from misusing your audio.

The video post-cum-Reel will only be available to their app followers for those with private accounts, though.

In addition to going full Reels for its platform, Instagram is also pulling a lot of cues from TikTok, which might help the app rival the ByteDance-owned site in terms of popularity. Instagram has a history of incorporating elements from other platforms, most notably when it added Stories, which were previously a feature of Snapchat years ago.

The short-video market is predicted to develop significantly in the next years, and after seeing TikTok’s rapid rise, Meta must have been inspired to go the same route and launch its business strategy.
