India trip to England: ECB allows players to travel with their families

England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI) on Monday were able to obtain approval from the families of Indian team players in the UK Government, reports Insidesport.co. This means that the Indian cricket team that goes to the UK on June 2 is now in line with their families and the same rules of segregation will apply to them as well.

“In accordance with the live standards set for the event, in accordance with the requirements of the UK government and Public Health England, a team of Indian men will arrive in the UK on June 3, 2021 by contract and carry proof of poor PCR Test,” he said. ICC during a press release on May 29.

“Prior to travelling, the party will have spent 14 days in a bio-secure environment in India during which regular testing will have taken place. Upon landing, they will proceed directly to the on-site hotel at the Hampshire Bowl where they will be tested again before commencing a period of managed isolation,” it added.

Currently, both men and women groups are under 14 days of solitary confinement at a Mumbai hotel. Reportedly, even the family members of many members of the group have been separated from them. The Indian opposition will go to the UK, tomorrow, June 2.

The women’s team will travel to Bristol for one Test against England, while the Men’s team will travel to Southampton for the India vs New Zealand World Test Championship Final on June 18.

The New Zealand team has already arrived in England as they have to play two Test series against England from June 2.
