I initially rejected my role in Aisha as I wanted to be a heroine ’: Amrita Puri remembers her first film

The first features of this week are Amrita Puri. In the 77th edition of our special series, the actress talks about her first acting role, Sonam Kapoor actress Aisha (2010).

Amrita Puri played Shefali in her first film, Aisha (2010).
Amrita Puri is one character who has successfully tried all spirits. From being part of films like Kai Po Che, Bold Money and Justiceall Hai Kya, to trying his hand at television while Bollywood actors often avoid a small screen.

His recent conversion to digital space was a source of great joy to him. While an integral part of Amazon Prime Video’s Four More Shots Please series, currently shooting for its third season, Amrita was one of the top scorers in the latest Zee5 web show – Jeet Ki Zid. He also appeared to Made in Heaven.

My first major project was Aisha, for the first time on the film set. I really didn’t know much about filming. So, Aisha was also like going to film school, because I had done a few ads here and there before. I have already made my portfolio as I have been to ad testing.

I received a message on Facebook about the re-enactment of Jane Austen’s Emma, and that they were looking for a girl to play the character that I would eventually play. I was in college doing my BA in English and I thought that message came from someone from the book department.

So, I was very happy with the idea that there was an old habit in my syllabus. And it all went through that one Facebook message with a number. I texted the person and came to Anil Kapoor Productions, not knowing anything. I met Amrita Sehgal there, who gave me the script. At first, I refused the job.
