HPU Exams Without Vaccinating Students Opposed

HPU Exams-Amid the ongoing battle against the Covid-19 pandemic, the Himachal Pradesh government has decided to hold exams for various undergraduate classes.

The HPU has published the date sheet for the B.Ed 1ST and 3rd-semester exams. The date sheet for Mr Ed’s exams has also been released by the university. Final exam schedule for B.A., B.Sc., B.Com, Hons. and Shastri’s courses were also posted on the University’s website on Monday.

However, ahead of the warming of the third wave, which is expected to strike in the next 7-8 weeks, a student body at the HPU objected to the decision citing the risk posed to students by an offline exam amid a pandemic. .

Students also took to social media and asked for exams to be canceled. The students tweeted the request with the hashtag #cancelhpuexams.

They also asked why the government was ignoring student safety when student exams were canceled.

The state unit NSUI on Monday submitted a memorandum to the chief minister through the director of higher education demanding a statewide vaccination campaign for students over the age of 18 before passing the university exams. The student body has also raised a demand for a reasonable reduction in the program.

In a letter to Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, the student body raised three demands. The organization has asked the chief minister to ensure that all students are vaccinated before taking exams. He offered to conduct online exams if the government cannot immunize all students in such a short period of time.

“If online courses are possible, the exams should also be conducted online,” said Chattar Singh, State President of NSUI.

The student body has also called on the state government to find an alternative way to conduct the exams so that students are not put at risk. The student body urged the state government not to use the students as “experimental kits.” HPU Exams
