Harshal Patel Becomes First To Bag Five-Wicket Haul

IPL 2021: Harshal Patel tied his girlfriends with five wickets in the IPL and fired three of India’s top Indian players, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya and Kieron Pollard.
Harshal Patel of Royal Challengers Bangalore took his five-wicket haul to the Indian Premier League in a nasty final in the first IPL match in 2021 against the Mumbai Indians. He was also the first bowler to take a five-wicket haul against Mumbai in the IPL. Harshal took three wickets in the final over, dismissing Krunal Pandya, Kieron Pollard and Marco Jansen, finishing with 5 points out of 27 in four overs. The right arm-pacer helped RCB hold on to the Mumbai momentum late in the innings after Chris Lynn’s 49 helped the five champions get off to a good start.

Harshal fired Ishan Kishan, grabbing the left lbw by a yorker who was working after catching Hardik Pandya, too, with a full toss.

He then returned from the final over to oust the top finishers from Mumbai in the Krunal and Pollard.
Krunal outscored Dan Christian in the middle of a deep wicket as Pollard played the next ball with a change of pace from the striking RCB bowler as the biggest Caribbean hitter was also caught deep, in a square leg by Washington Sundar.

Despite missing out on a hat-trick, Harshal hit Marco Jansen’s stump to secure a fifth wicket and wasted a chance at Mumbai to finish well.

RCB face Mumbai in the first leg of the IPL 2021 at Kennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.

No teams will be playing at home this season as only six venues – Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Delhi and Ahmedabad – have been selected for the tournament.
