The government on Thursday extended until September 30 visas for all foreign nationals trapped in India over the COVID-19 epidemic, a spokesman for the official said. “The central government has facilitated the residence of these foreigners within India by providing for the extension of their normal visa or e-visa or free stay period free of charge of overstay. “This facility which is available until August 31, 2021 has now been extended by the central government until September 30, 2021. Such foreign nationals will not have to apply to the relevant FRRO / FRO to extend their visas until September 30, 2021. , “the spokesman said.

Before leaving the country, they can apply online for an exit permit on the e-FRRO portal which can be provided to the authorities free of charge without overstay. The spokesman said that if anyone wanted an extension of visas beyond 30 September, they could apply to the e-FRRO online payment site, which would be considered by the authorities, subject to the appropriate guidelines.

The speaker made it clear that Afghan people, already Indian in any form of visas, would be extended visas under guidelines provided separately for Afghan citizens.
