Google has added a minimum OS requirement for apps to the Google Play Store

Google has just launched a new update to the Google Play Store now that tells you the Android OS version you need or the smaller device you need to meet to install the app.

The Play Store version 29.2.13 now includes a new line item called “Android OS” under “Application Information” which indicates the minimum version based.

Each Android application needs to define a “minor version of Android” and a “targeted Android version.”

The smaller version specifies the oldest Android version supported by the app, while the target version refers to the target Android version built for the app.

IOS style indicators are a line that appears in the Google Play Store next to version, Update Updates, Downloads, Offers, Uninstalled Unlocks, and App Permissions.

Google has long shown a limited OS requirement in the web version of the Google Play Store. However, this is the first time this line has appeared on Android phones.

This new feature is not very useful as Play Store is already hiding applications that are not supported by your device.

For example, if the app is only built for Android 7 and above, you will not be able to find it in the app store if you are using a phone that runs Android 6.

Also, Google Play Store has added a new feature that displays a circular input indicator on your home screen when you first download the app.

Last month, the Google Play Store added a new “Program” tab to the bottom bar. Basically, the tab gives you a collection of deals and discounts on all apps, games, movies, and books in one place.

Offerings are displayed on outstanding cards. The Play Store now also allows you to download and install Android TV and Wear OS apps from your smartphone.
