Explosion in Kabul mosque : At least 10 people were killed and 20 others injured in a massive explosion at a mosque in the Afghan capital Kabul on Friday. A Taliban spokesman said: “At least 10 worshipers were killed in a powerful blast at a Sunni mosque in Kabul. 20 people are injured in this explosion. The condition of some of them is said to be critical.

Hundreds of people had gathered to offer Namaz

After the explosion, when the media spoke to locals, they said: “Hundreds of people had gathered to offer prayers on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan and the Khalifa Agha Gul Jaan Masjid was packed. . He said the number of victims is expected to increase further as the condition of many people is critical.

No organization claimed responsibility for the explosion.
Taliban Interior Ministry spokesman Mohammad Nafi Taqor did not provide further details and said Taliban security personnel surrounded the area. He said the source of the blast was not immediately known and no one had yet claimed responsibility for the blast.

Local residents said the blast was so severe that buildings around the mosque shook. An ambulance was seen moving towards the location after the explosion. This mosque belongs to the majority of Sunni Muslims in Afghanistan.

Earlier Thursday, two consecutive explosions took place in Kabul within minutes. In this explosion, 9 people died on the spot. As the injured were admitted to hospital, another injured person died, after which the death toll reached 10.
