In a virtual meeting held in Jaipur on Friday, Secretary of Medical Education Vaibhav Galaria said construction work on three new government medical colleges in Sri Ganganagar, Chittorgarh and Dholpur was underway. He further stated that efforts are being made to start the MBBS course in these three medical schools from the next session.
Medical Education Commissioner Shivangi Swarnakar said before the start of the new session in May, a team from the National Medical Commission will inspect the new college. Efforts will be made to complete the inspection work by April, she said.
At present, there are 2,830 MBBS places in state government medical schools. The first session of the new medical schools can be launched with 100 seats per faculty, it was decided at the meeting.In a tweet, originally in Hindi, the government of Rajasthan said: “Under the chairmanship of Medical Education Secretary Shri Vaibhav Galaria, a virtual meeting was held at the Medical Education Building.
