Controversy over Pakistan’s intervention on ISI Chief

Controversy over ISI chief’s visit: Pakistan’s interference in Afghanistan’s internal affairs questioned after Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Faiz Hameed visited Kabul out of the blue to meet with Taliban leaders. According to Khama News, officials from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan have said that no country will be allowed to interfere in the internal affairs of Afghanistan.

According to the IANS news agency (Controversy), officials specifically named the United States and Pakistan, but believe that no country in the world will have the opportunity to interfere in the affairs of Afghanistan. The Pakistani government has not commented on the purpose of Hameed’s visit to Afghanistan.

People reacted to the visit of the two officials, saying their visit constitutes clear interference in the affairs of Afghanistan before any government announcement. Acting Information and Culture Minister and Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said they would not allow any country, including Pakistan, to interfere in the affairs of Afghanistan.

He said the ISI chief must have brought a message from Afghan politicians in exile in Islamabad. Previously, Sohail Shaheen, a member of the Taliban political bureau in Doha, reacted to statements by US officials and said the country should not interfere in the affairs of Afghanistan. Shaheen had said they did not violate women’s rights to education and work by wearing the Islamic hijab.
