After the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE), now the Indian Certificate Examination Council (CISCE) is also reconsidering holding board exams this year. The CBSE decision was taken after a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While the CBSE has cancelled the Class 10 exams, the Class 12 exams have been postponed until further notice.
Now, CISCE is also reviewing board tests. “The Board will take a decision on the Grade 10 and 12 examinations of the CISCE Board 2021, and will inform all stakeholders in advance,” said the CISCE secretary general.

According to the existing schedule, the ISC exams will be in May. If CISCE decides to take the CBSE route, the tests can be expected to be postponed.
Also last year, CISCE final board tests were interrupted by the COVID-19 epidemic. At the CISCE Board Exams 2020, the Council had awarded marks to students based on a special procedure. As a rule, students are given paper marks they have not been able to try based on three parameters including an average of the best 3 percent found in the papers they have tried, internal student tests, and the percentage of marks obtained by students in internal examination of skipped paper. Because the board could not hold all the tests, CISCE had not announced the toppers last year.
While announcing the postponement of the 12th CBSE board exams, the Department of Education said, “Unlike state boards, CBSE has a character for the whole of India, therefore, it is important to conduct simultaneous exams across the country.” As CISCE is also a national board, it is expected to be influenced by the government’s decision.
Normally, CISCE conducts its board exams in February. However, the same was postponed this year due to the epidemic.
