It is likely that Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2021 might be postponed . The Consortium of National Law Universities in a recent statement said it would “look into the situation in the first week of May 2021 in connection with the date of the examination”. Currently, the law entry exam is scheduled for June 13. The process for applying for a national standards test approved by undergraduate and postgraduate legal programs is open until April 30 at consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
“Applicants are advised not to panic at the moment because the Consortium will be taking appropriate action as time and circumstances require and will keep applicants up to date,” the official statement from the law university said.
Those who clear CLAT are entitled to seek admission to the combined five-year LLB and LLM programs at 22 National Law University (NLUs). NLUs offer admission to various programs such as BA LLB, BSc LLB, BBA LLB, BCom LLB, BSW LLB, and LLM programs. 2,538 seats are available for LLB programs and 742 seats for LLM study at participating National Universities.
For UG courses, CLAT will have 150 questions, each to complete one mark in 150 minutes. The test will consist of questions from English, current affairs, legal reasoning, logical reasoning, and quantitative techniques.. For every negative answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.
The PG test will be two hours and 150 marks, however, it will be divided into two sub-sections. The first section will have 100 optional questions for one mark. there will be a 50 mark section containing two essay type questions. In the MCQ category, incorrect answers will award a negative mark of 0.25 marks.
