The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the school affiliation deadline until June 30, 2021 in the 2022-23 session. Due to the nature of the situation resulting from COVID-19, the board has extended the deadline for registration, improvement, and extension under the School Affiliation Re-engineered Automation System (SARAS). Earlier, the deadline was April 30.
In an official statement, the CBSE said no late fees would be charged during this period.
Under SARAS, schools can apply for new integration (including the Switch Over and Middle School syllabus), relationship improvements and increased integration.
Steps to apply for school affiliation
Step 1: Visit the SARAS CBSE website by clicking here, https://saras.cbse.gov.in/
Step 2: On the homepage, click on ‘Apply Now’
Step 3: A new page will open
Step 4: Now, mark all the options after reading them carefully
Step 5: Select the category under which you want to apply
Step 6: Now, register your school and download all the required documents
Step 7: Make the payment online and submit the application
Step 8: Keep a copy of the application and download it for future reference
The new CBSE integration system, SARAS came into effect on March 1, 2021. The Board has redesigned the integration system to comply with the rules set out in the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020. is completely digital and based on data analysis with minimal human intervention.
Currently, there are more than 25,000 board-linked schools in India and 26 other countries. These include Kendriya Vidyalayas, private schools, Delhi Public Schools, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Chandigarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
