CBSE facilitates the admission process for students migrating from overseas councils

CBSE on Thursday said that students from foreign boards need not seek approval from the Board for admission to schools.

In a bid to facilitate the admission of students from overseas councils to its affiliated schools, the Central Council for Secondary Education (CBSE) said on Thursday that these students did not need to seek council approval to be admitted to schools.

“In the post-corona pandemic period, many families are moving to India for various reasons. As a result, many students who study abroad in overseas councils join schools affiliated with CBSE. CBSE facilitates granted to students from other school boards based on class equivalency from two different boards, therefore, whenever students move from overseas boards to CBSE, they apply through the school to the CBSE to grant them permission to apply for admission to classes 9 to 12 on the basis of equivalence, ”said the CBSE.

In order to make life easier for these students and their parents, the CBSE has asked to follow the internal regulations for exams in which it has established equivalences with the various councils.If the name of the foreign board is not available on the list, the board says, schools can provisionally provide admission and for confirmation, a request could be sent to the CBSE.
