Burning meteorite falls between Khandwa & Indore!

meteorite- Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A hot meteorite crossed the skies of Madhya Pradesh on Saturday. Weighing around 10 kg, it was somewhere between Khandwa and Indore.

The weather service said the meteorite would have created a pit 10 feet deep after hitting the earth’s surface. The department, however, ruled out any victims in the state.

Meteorological Department Radar Section Chief Ved Prakash said: “It was burning due to atmospheric friction. It is a normal incident. In the past 10 days, this has also happened in Rajasthan. This time, such an incident took place in the state. It was a meteorite (sub-planet) of barely 10 kilograms. He fell between Khandwa and Indore.

“Such an incident is normal. A subplanet in the solar system experiences the impact of Earth’s gravitational force during rotation due to its light weight while circling the Sun,” Ved Prakash added.

Khandwa collector Anup Singh said: ‘It didn’t fall in the residential areas otherwise it would have been a big problem. I asked all SDMs to take feedback from the kotwars. He must have fallen flat. Generally, these meteorites fall in a state of combustion and are extinguished before touching the surface of the earth.
