Bombay HC requests response from Nawab Malik on libel lawsuit brought by Sameer Wankhede’s father

New Delhi: After Sameer Wankhede’s father Dhyandev Wankhede filed a libel claim against Nawab Malik, the Bombay High Court on Monday ordered the Maharashtra minister and NCP chief to submit an affidavit in response to the complaint in defamation.

A bench led by Judge Madhav Jamdar on Monday ordered Malik to file his affidavit by Tuesday. He further announced that the new hearing in the case would be held on Wednesday.

Without preventing Malik from making further comments against the plaintiff, Judge Jamdar said, “You (Malik) are filing your response by tomorrow. If you can respond on Twitter, you can respond here as well.”

During his appearance for the defamation trial of Dhyandev Wankhade, lawyer Arshad Shaikh informed the HC that the accused made false and defamatory remarks against his client and his family on a daily basis, which led to further remarks on social networks that add to defamation.

Arguing that the NCB chief should be barred from making further comments regarding the plaintiff and his family, lawyer Shaikh informed the court of the recent tweet posted by the defendant in the morning about Sameer Wankhede’s sister-in-law. .

While slamming Sameer Wankhde’s sister-in-law, NCP chief Malik wrote on his official Twitter account on Monday: “Sameer Dawood Wankhede, is your sister-in-law Harshada Dinanath Redkar involved in drug trafficking?” You must answer because his case is pending before the court of Pune. Here is the proof.

In defense of Nawab Malik, lawyer Atul Damle informed the court that the plaintiff was prohibited from speaking on behalf of his adult children and that comments made on social media could not be attributed to the defendant.

In his libel suit, Dhyandev Wankhede demanded Rs 1.25 crore from Malik for allegedly making defamatory statements against his son Sameer Wankhede and his family at press conferences and via social media.
