At the Jersey trailer launch, Shahid Kapoor said: ‘After Kabir Singh Released, I Went Like A Beggar To Everybody’

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor recently made a confession during the launch of the trailer for his upcoming movie Jersey that might shock his fans!

Shahid Kapoor interacted with the media at the Jersey trailer launch on Tuesday and said he begged the filmmakers who made 200-250 crore on film to release his film’s hit, Kabir Singh.

After the release of Kabir Singh, I went as a beggar for everyone. I went to see all these people who made these 200 to 250 crore movies. I have never been a part of this club, so it was completely new to me. Having spent 15-16 years in the industry, I have never had a bigger fatter. So when it finally happened I didn’t know where to go, it was all new to me, ”Shahid Kapoor said at the Jersey trailer launch, as reported by Bollywood Life.

Meanwhile, speaking about his upcoming film, Shahid revealed that he was approached for Jersey weeks before Kabir Singh was released and watched the original film, which starred Nani in the lead.

Jersey is the Hindi remake of the Telugu hit of the same name. It tells the story of a cricketer, who returns to play cricket in his thirties, joining the Indian cricket team.

Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri (who also directed the original), the film finally hit screens on December 31. The film will also star Shahid Kapoor’s father, Pankaj Kapur, as a mentor and actress Mrunal Thakur as a wife.

Shahid Kapoor was last seen in the 2019 hit Kabir Singh starring Kiara Advani. The film was a remake of the Telugu hit Arjun Reddy, with Vijay Deverakonda in the lead role.
