Apple said it will add Face ID to all devices, including Macs, over the next two years

Apple plans to move all of its products to Face ID, from its entry level smartphone smartphone to its high-end offerings like the Mac.

The Cupertino tech chief executive will complete the change in the next two years if new reports are believed.

The move may have been targeted, but Bloomberg’s latest Mark Gurman newspaper has speculated again.

In a recent issue of his book Power On, Gurman notes that Apple will have two distinct advantages by embedding a face recognition feature on its devices.

For one, Face ID will provide better security for Apple devices than Touch ID.

It will also enable Apple to deliver real-time taxpayer features that we see on its list, a feature Touch ID will never give you, of course.

Given the reasons, Apple is likely to introduce Face ID on a Mac in the next few years.

Eventually, the company will switch all of its devices, including standard entry-level products such as the iPhone SE and iPad Air, to Face ID.

Gurman, however, notes that Apple still considers Touch ID to be an integral part of its product list.

Especially for low-end models, as they serve as a cheap security factor, which helps to reduce costs in such products.

In a news release, as seen by MacRumors, Gurman states that when all devices will have a Face ID-enabled camera, high-end offerings will be separated from the bezel-less display and the in-camera camera.

Apple is currently facing the challenge of embedding Face ID cameras on a Mac offering.

Gurman notes that their thin form does not allow for the full range of sensory depths required in Face ID.

As a result, Apple did not introduce this feature on its redesigned 24-inch iMac introduced earlier this year.

Apple will eventually intend to embed Face ID directly on the screens, thus eliminating the need for a bezel or notch.

For the iPhone list, this change could be seen as early as 2023, as noted by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Apple is currently working on a new MacBook Pro which is expected to launch in September this year.

It may come with a mini-LED display with a 1080p web camera.

The most important change, however, could be the removal of the touch-bar, introduced on the MacBook Pro since 2016, in favor of body keys. You can read all about the upcoming MacBook Pro here
