$ 600 million cryptocurrency tokens has returned by ‘White Hat’ hacker : Poly Network

The hackers behind one of the largest digital currencies that once targeted the cryptocurrency platform Pol Network has recovered nearly a total of $ 6 billion.

Named Mr. White Hat by the Poly Network, “ethical hackers” often aim to expose cyber vulnerabilities, when funds are returned, “transfer them to a frequently signed wallet” controlled by a hacker and the Poly Network team.
The only remaining $ 33 million worth of tether solidcoins frozen earlier this week is the cryptocurrency company Tether, Poly Network said.

“The payment process has not yet been finalized. To ensure the safe availability of user assets, we hope to maintain contact with Mr. White Hat and pass on relevant information to the public,” Poly Network said.

On August 10, hackers began retrieving stolen coins, prompting some blockchain analysts to speculate that they might find it very difficult to recover cryptocurrency stolen at such a rate.
Later that day, the hackers claimed in a digital message, and shared by Elliptic, London’s blockchain analytics provider, that they had made the attack “fun” and wanted to “expose the danger” before others exploited it and that it was a “constant” token return system.

However, at $ 600 million, Pol Network theft surpassed the record of $ 474 million in criminal losses registered by the entire financial sector (DeFi) from January to July, according to crypto intelligence company CipherTrace.

Theft points to the dangers of the highly regulated DeFi sector, crypto experts say. DeFi platforms allow users to make transactions, usually with cryptocurrency, without the traditional gatekeepers such as banks or exchanges.
