4 missing, 3 dead after a Cloudburst in Uttarakhand’s Uttarakashi district

The cloudburst happened in Mando village of Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand on Sunday night.

Uttarkashi: At least three people have died and four more are missing after a downpour in Uttarakhand. The incident took place in Uttarkashi district, officials said.

“3 people died and four people were reported missing after a downpour in the village of Mando in the Uttarkashi district,” said Inspector Jagdamba Prasad, head of the Emergency Response Force team. catastrophe (SDRF), quoted by the ANI news agency.

Rescue operations are currently underway in the region.

According to the SDRF, Prasad was initially informed by the District Disaster Management Officer (DDMO), Uttarkashi, that some people were trapped in the village due to water coming from the Mando village drain on the road to Gangotri.

Based on the information, the team immediately reached the location and began rescue operations.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had forecast heavy to very intense rainfall over the western Himalayan region – parts of Jammu Division, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, western Himalayas. ‘Uttar Pradesh, northwestern Madhya Pradesh, eastern Rajasthan, western Rajasthan, southern Haryana, and Gangetic West Bengal and surrounding areas Monday. IMD has predicted heavy rains in these areas through July 21.
