17 injured, 2 Killed in Blast outside the house in Pakistan’s Lahore: Report

Lahore: Multiple witness account said that the glass windows of nearby houses and buildings have been shattered. According to the media reports, the sound of the blast was so loud that it was heard in faraway areas.

Lahore: At least two people were killed and 17 injured in an explosion that was reported Wednesday in a residential area of ​​Lahore in Pakistan.
The explosion took place near a hospital in the city of Johar in Lahore. A police officer in the capital confirmed to Ary News that two people died in the explosion which left seventeen others injured.

The cause of the explosion has not yet been determined, the officer said.

According to several accounts, the windows of neighboring houses and buildings were smashed. According to media reports, the sound of the explosion was so loud that it was heard in remote areas.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar requested an IG police report on the explosion in the order of Johar town for an immediate investigation into the incident. Buzdar said those responsible for the blast would be brought to justice immediately and the best possible medical help given to the injured.

A spokesperson for the emergency rescue team who was among the first to reach the spot said: “So far we have not been able to determine whether a gas pipeline burst or whether it was a cylinder. But we have shifted four people [to the hospital] and more injured are expected.”

The Pakistani daily reported that police and demining teams reached the site.

The deputy city commissioner, Mudassir Riaz Malik, ordered the police officers concerned to go to the scene of the incident. The Lahore deputy commissioner also ordered the emergency services of all hospitals to be on high alert.
